Level 3 Award in Education and Training Level 3 AET Class Room Course, formerly known as PTLLS Course is designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach in the post 16 education sector in England, Wales, Scotland. This qualification replaces the old Level 3 PTLLS course in 2011 now widely known as Level 3 AET Class Room Course. Aim of this course is to certifying people to teach at a nationally accredited standard and in international aspects as well. In order to become an approved and qualified trainer you must be qualified in the subject you are teaching and also have an appropriate adult teaching qualification.
The QCF Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector PTLLS course or Level 3 AET Class Room Course, sometimes referred to colloquially as “PETALS”, is an initial teacher training qualification, studied at QCF/RQF Level 3 or 4, for those new to teaching, or wanting to start out as associate teachers, or currently teaching in the United Kingdom.

Study Method:
You can complete this course either through Distance Learning / Online or Classroom based. Level 3 AET Class Room Course or PTLLS course distance learning is done at your own pace with a Tutor’s support & guidance. All necessary materials will be provided to with login access to our student portal platform, once you book the course, so you can start the course straightway. The entry requirement for this course are the basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy, ICT). Once you book this course, you will be given up to 3 months to complete the assignments. Within the 12 weeks, you need to come in for 1 day micro-teach and assessment at any of our training venues close to you or it can be done at your place by sending video record. During the micro teach, you will be observed by other delegates on the course and your tutor. (All resources such as projector, computer, flip chart will be provided for your micro-teach session). But you need to design a session plan, PowerPoint presentation, hand-outs etc. in your sector / industry.

Course Assessment:
There is no formal examination is required, but at the end of the course you need to submit a portfolio via email or by post to our head office. You will also be required to provide supporting evidence and an observation with written on the micro teach delivery aspect of the course.
