Level 4 CET course is a first stage teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. This qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers. Formerly this courses was known as CTLLS. Candidates who successfully complete this qualification will have a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. They will be able to use initial and diagnostic assessments and plan and deliver inclusive teaching and learning. They will also be able to assess learning and use appropriate resources to support effective learning.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

This course provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills for a career in teaching. You will study six units which build to a minimum total of 36 credits on the Regulated Qualification Frameworks (RQF).
The four units are:
• Understanding roles, responsibilities & relationships in education & training: 3 credits
• Planning to meet the needs of learners in education & training: 3 credits
• Delivering education and training: 6 credits
• Assessing learners in education & training: 6 credits
• Using resources for education & training: 3 credits
• Inclusive practice: 15 credits

REQUIREMENTS:
The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a requirement for anyone looking to work in a Teaching role in an associate position. This role carries less responsibility than that of a full teaching role. It is a nationally recognised qualification which allows you to progress onto the Level 5 Diploma, bringing you closer to being able to gain your QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills). All learners, whether pre-service or in-service, volunteer, paid or unpaid teaching,  must have access to a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
The approved age range for this qualification is 19+. Learners should be qualified/ experienced in the subject they intend to teach, have access to 30 teaching practice hours and possess good levels of language, literacy and numeracy.
